Tantalising, mouthwatering and juicy beef patties sandwiched in between soft wholemeal buns and topped with home made red cabbage coleslaw, sure to make you ask for more. Impress your family and friends with this burger patties which are great for picnics and barbeques.

Serves 4-6 Pax

Ingredients

Coleslaw

  • 1/2 Whole Red Cabbage
  • 1/3 Whole Iceberg Lettuce
  • 1 Tablespoon Coleslaw Dressing

Sweet Potato Fries

  • 4 Whole Sweet Potatoes
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt

Burger Patties

  • 500 Grams Minced Beef
  • 1 Piece Egg
  • 1 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning
  • 1 Teaspoon Chilli Flakes
  • 1 Small Onion
  • 3 Cloves Garlic
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Teaspoon Crushed Black Pepper

Assembly

  • 4 Pieces Burger Buns
  • 4 Whole Tomatoes
  • Cheese Slices

Instructions

Coleslaw

  1. CHOP red Cabbage and Lettuce.
  2. MIX chopped cabbage, lettuce and coleslaw dresssing in a bowl.
  3. SET ASIDE the ready coleslaw.

Sweet Potato Fries

  1. WASH the sweet potatoes.
  2. SLICE the sweet potatoes into smaller pieces (fries shape).
  3. PLACE sweet potatoes on baking tray.
  4. SEASON the sliced sweet potatoes with olive oil, salt and pepper.
  5. BAKE the sweet potato fries @ 200 degrees celsius in the oven for about 20 minutes.

Burger Patties

  1. MIX garlic, onion, italian seasoning, chilli flakes, minced beef, egg, worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper in a bowl.
  2. COMBINE all the ingredients evenly and thoroughly.
  3. SHAPE the mixture into burger patties.
  4. GRILL the burger patties on a non-stick pan (3-5mins on each side).

Assembly

  1. SLICE the burger buns.
  2. DRY TOAST the burger buns on both sides.
  3. SLICE the tomatoes.
  4. ASSEMBLE the burger parts, from the bottom – Burger bun base, coleslaw, patty, cheese slice, tomato and burger bun top.
  5. PLATE the burger with the sweet potato fries and you’re ready!
