Had too much leftover rice from yesterday’s dinner? Cook up this simple classic Nasi Goreng Kampong for a hearty breakfast. With wholesome ingredients, it is sure to give you the energy needed for a whole day at work or school.
- 2 Cups White Rice cooked, leftovers are good
- 1 Piece Large Red Onion
- 2 Piece Shallots
- 1 Bulb Garlic
- 1 Inch Ginger fresh
- 1 Cube Fish Stock
- 5 Pieces Chilli Padi
- 1.5 Cups Mixed Vegetables
- 3 Pieces Crabstick
- 5 Pieces Fishball
- 1 Egg beaten
- Fried Keropok Ikan
- Fried Chicken Wings
- Sunny Side Up
Peel and roughly cut onion, shallots, garlic and ginger.
Blitz onion, shallots, garlic and ginger in a food processor with a 3 tablespoons of water until it becomes a ﬁne paste.
Slice crabsticks and ﬁshball thinly. Set aside. 4
Slice chilli padi thinly. Set aside.
Heat 4 tablespoons of oil in a wok.
Fry the onion paste for about 3 minutes, till it starts to dry up.
Add in sliced chilli padi.
Stir in ﬁshball and crabsticks and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
Add in mixed vegetables and rice.
Add salt and pepper to taste and stir well until all the ingredients are well mixed.
Make a well in the middle of the rice, and add in 1 tablespoon of oil.
Add in beaten egg and let it cook for about 1 minute before mixing the rice with the egg.
Stir on high heat for about 2 minutes before serving.
Serve with the sides and sambal belachan.
