10 Places that STAY OPEN on Chinese New Year!
by Nur Aziemah Feb 01, 2016
This Chinese New Year (CNY), it looks like it's going to be a fabulously looong weekend. As per every Chinese New Year, we, the non-Chinese common folk will find that all malls turn to ghost towns and almost everywhere is closed. The roads will be quiet and our normal lepak places become so gloomy that the moment we reach it, we wish we hadn't left home in the first place. As a public service reminder, please stock up your kitchens before CNY eve when there are still food on the supermarket shelves for you to purchase. But in case you didn't reach the supermarkets in time, here's a list to save you from going hungry this weekend.
Thai Food at GREAThai
With it's exceptional range of Thai cuisine, GREAThai is a great place to feast with family. For our recommendations on what to eat, you can check out our various faves on our Instagram account - @halalfoodhunt.

Recently discovered, this halal buffet gave us quite a pleasant surprise. Following a Peranakan theme, this compact buffet is reminiscent of Asian Market Cafe and has great food to offer. The menu on its buffet line changes everyday with the exception of a few signature favourites so there will always be something new to entice your tastebuds.
Straits Signature Kerabu Yusheng @ Katong Kitchen
We love the CNY buffet selection that we tasted! That's available from the 1st to 22nd February, so I personally recommend you bring your parents out here for a well deserved treat! Likewise if you celebrate the occasion with your colleagues, they serve a scrumptious Straits Signature Kerabu Yusheng - Nyonya style.
