Twilight Feast Festival 2018 is ready to pump some life into National Day this year from 3 to 5 August this weekend at Suntec City Convention Centre.

Make way, hipsters, our local food is the focus of the day! If you’re super fed up with western food creations, it’s time to return to our roots. No one makes local food like Singaporeans!

If you’re looking for a super traditional food immersion, this may not be the best list for you. However, if you’re on the fence about traditional food and new fusion food, then read on!

1. Ikan 1986

Who knew otah otah could look this beautiful and insta-worthy? If you’re looking for a real local feast, check out this stall. Their otah family recipe will not let you down.  Your mum, auntie, uncle will all love you if you bring some back home.

Pick from their myriad of otah flavours – kampung, crab, prawn, scallop squid, original.

Otah, Otak Otak, oh-tahk, əʊˈtɑk

They stained their toothpicks to make it easier for their customers to tell the flavours apart! Cute or what?

2. Eggstop (Muslim-owned)

BOOTH B13

This new egg-based sandwich shop is ready to serve you hungry Singaporeans their thick toast sandwiches! They will be opening at Paya Lebar Square pretty soon but we can’t wait for a preview of their food during Twilight Feast Festival. Not much information is available for now, but they seem promising!

3. Thimbol

Booth L14

If you’re a fan of ice cream soda, then you might want to check Thimbol out. Their drinks are local ones, like the famous Teh Tarik and Bandung, infused with the ice-cream soda concept.

4. Kori Bowls (Muslim-owned)

Booth A14

This stall reminds us of those desserts stalls at canteens because they sell comfort-desserts (like comfort food, but desserts).

They’ve got chewy and plump mochi filled with red bean paste in their rendition of Chendol. Sounds so good!

Kori Bowl also sells interesting drinks like the Coconut Mojito! Beat the heat and get a mojito in your hands, people.

6. Mkuking

While their staple may be the Katok Kotak, Mee Bandung Muar,  Krusty Katok, don’t be surprised if they’re serving up crazier dishes! They’re known for trying new dishes. Just check out their Instagram page and you’ll understand what we mean.

This Katok in Coconut Shell is a seriously brilliant idea.

7. Kava Coffees

Booth B14

Their ice-cream is Jums-approved. If our boss approves of it, means it’s sedap gilz because she’s super picky! Best part, they’ve got cool, local flavours like Teh Tarik ice cream and Teh Tarik smoothies. You can check out all their flavours on their Instagram page. Warning: Will make you want one immediately.

Our Thai milk tea ice cream now comes in 2 sizes . Regular – $4 Large – $6

Do we need a box full of keria popcorns? The answer is always yes.

9. Inariku

Craving for halal Japanese food? Head over to Inariku. They’ve got some of their specials up for sale at Twilight Feast Festival, like the Lobster Inari and Salmon Platter.
